New Vetting Regulations
The National Vetting Bureau (Children and Vulnerable Persons) Acts 2012-2016 provide a statutory basis for the vetting of persons carrying out relevant work with children or vulnerable persons.
In a school situation this means that any volunteer involved in any capacity should be vetted under the current guidelines.
The Act stipulates that a relevant organisation shall not permit any person to undertake relevant work or activities on behalf of the organisation, unless the organisation receives a vetting disclosure from the National Vetting Bureau (NVB) in respect of that person.
As a school, we depend on the parent body/adult community for support with numerous activities, for example:
We therefore ask all parents/ guardians to fill in the NVB Form in order to establish a comprehensive list of volunteers. This allows for the school to run events and activities in accordance with current guidelines.
