Wednesday 20th December - School Nativity Show
Friday 22nd December - School closes for Christmas holidays
Monday 8th January 2018 - School opens for term 2
What a night! On Friday 17th November, the school pupils left us as normal...but came BACK TO SCHOOL!!!! At 5pm, with music blasting, most of our pupils returned in a state of high excitement, ready to spend some more time in school. This time...in pyjamas!
Junior Infants to Second Class came back for those yummy cookies made by Ms. Newton's class, and had a lovely bedtime story and hot chocolate. Ms. Newton even lost her voice reading, pretending to be a lion!
3rd to 6th Classes were in for the long haul...5 hours of extra school that evening! We had mini-mattresses, blankets, duvets, inflatable chairs, pillows, cushions, and a few sinks come in the door at 5pm! Once settled, there was a variety of activities to enjoy...reading (obviously), a book quiz, a movie based on a book, and a dinner with dessert also.
Needless to say, we all had a fantastic evening. You can check out the photos in the photo gallery. The teachers may have been zombie-like for Saturday, but we all had a brilliant time too :)
Of course, there are a few thank yous to make also! Firstly, thanks to the teachers for giving up their Friday evenings for this great cause! Míle buíochas to Ms. Newton, and 1st/2nd for making the cookies for themselves and the Infants! A MASSIVE thanks to all the parents who came in to give a helping hand, without you guys this event could not have gone ahead. We'd like to thank Miss Galbraith and Miss Furney for making dessert for 3rd - 6th, brownies with ice-cream, and chocolate krispie mars bar cakes.
Lastly, a huge thank you is due to McCormack's Pub and Oliveto restaurant, both in Dun Laoghaire, for their incredibly generous offers to feed 3rd - 6th classes with pizza, chips, chicken and sausages, for free. We highly recommend both establishments if you ever need a feed!
We have already raised over €1000 for the MS Readathon, and the final figure will be published shortly. Thank you all for fundraising and helping such a great cause.
